students in courtyard

Spring has officially arrived in Vandal Land, bringing sunshine, blue skies, and the perfect opportunity for outdoor learning! This week, students at J.E. Rhodes Elementary took advantage of the beautiful weather by moving their lessons outside to the school's courtyard, which serves as an outdoor classroom.

For their lesson on telling time, students got creative with sidewalk chalk, drawing clocks on the pavement to practice reading and setting different times. In addition, teachers set up interactive learning stations, making the lesson both engaging and hands-on. This fun and fresh-air-filled approach to learning made time fly—literally!

By taking learning beyond the classroom walls, teachers are creating memorable experiences that keep students engaged and excited. After all, a little sunshine and creativity make every lesson even better!
