Our Pre-K students recently wrapped up a hands-on unit all about mail — and they brought their learning to life in the sweetest way.
As part of the lesson, each student created a personalized postcard that included a photo, a sentence describing the picture, their signature, and even their classroom return address. Once completed, the postcards were delivered through campus mail to staff members across the district.
Teachers included a special note inviting recipients to write the students back — helping transform the lesson from a classroom activity into a real-world experience.
Over the past few days, replies have started arriving, and the excitement has been contagious. Students have eagerly opened their letters, proudly recognizing their names and classroom addresses, and experiencing firsthand how mail works from start to finish.
It’s a simple activity with a big impact — combining literacy, writing skills, and real-world connections in a way our youngest Vandals won’t forget.
The smiles say it all! There’s just something so special about seeing learning come to life in such a fun, real-world way.
