Van Junior High School is thrilled to announce Mrs. Jamie Young as the 2024- 2025 Teacher of the Year for our campus!
Mrs. Young is more than just a teacher—she’s a source of strength, compassion, and inspiration for her students and fellow staff members. Known for her unwavering dedication and heart for teaching, Mrs. Young consistently goes above and beyond, creating a classroom environment where students feel seen, supported, and truly cared for.
Her colleagues had so many kind words to say:
“Mrs. Young goes above and beyond for her students.”
“She is extremely hardworking and cares about every student.”
“Not only is she a phenomenal teacher, but also a great human being… she has been through so much this year, but continues to show up for her kids daily.”
Another nomination added, “Her heart for teaching is noticeable and contagious. Her students adore her and love going to her class.”
Even in the face of personal challenges, Mrs. Young has remained a steady and positive presence on our campus—lifting up others, modeling resilience, and pouring love into her classroom every day.
During the surprise celebration, the Vandal drum line, cheerleaders, and administrators honored Mrs. Young with a plaque, a yard sign, and a $1,000 check from the Van ISD Education Foundation.
We are incredibly proud to have Mrs. Young represent VJH as our Teacher of the Year.
