Van Middle School is thrilled to announce Mrs. Jenny Shaw as the 2025-2026 Teacher of the Year for our campus!
Mrs. Shaw’s passion for teaching and dedication to her students make her an outstanding educator at Van Middle School. As a 4th grade ELA teacher, she creates a classroom environment where students feel encouraged to learn, grow, and build confidence in their abilities.
Mrs. Shaw received multiple nominations, and it’s easy to see why. One colleague shared these words: “Jenny has a genuine passion for learning that shows up in everything she does. What I admire most about Jenny is how much she cares about her students’ success. She wants every student to learn, grow, and feel confident in the classroom. Her positive attitude and love for teaching make a difference not just for students, but for the people lucky enough to work beside her. Her energy, positivity, passion, and humor make her a great friend as well. Our school and my life are better because of Jenny Shaw, and I cannot think of anyone more deserving of this recognition.”
Mrs. Shaw’s impact reaches far beyond her classroom. Her enthusiasm, encouragement, and genuine care for others help create a positive and supportive culture across campus.
During a special rally celebration, students and staff surprised Mrs. Shaw as she was honored with a plaque, a yard sign, and a $1,000 check from the Van ISD Education Foundation.
We are incredibly proud to have Mrs. Shaw represent Van Middle School as our Teacher of the Year.
