Van High School is thrilled to announce Mrs. Carrie Hudson as the 2024- 2025 Teacher of the Year for our campus!
Mrs. Hudson’s dedication, flexibility, and servant-hearted leadership have made a lasting impact on both students and staff this year. One colleague shared, “Mrs. Hudson went WAY above and beyond when she took on all of Mrs. Teague’s classes, in addition to her own, while Mrs. Teague was on maternity leave. I saw her classroom bursting at the seams with Algebra 1 students every day—yet she welcomed them all with a smile and handled a tough situation with professionalism and grace.”
Another added, “She willingly took on all of Mrs. Teague’s Algebra 1 students during her 3–4 months of maternity leave, effectively doubling her workload. She has done an outstanding job and never once complained.”
The Van High School hallways were filled with cheers and music as the Vandal drum line, cheerleaders, and administrators surprised Mrs. Hudson with a plaque, a yard sign, and a $1,000 check from the Van ISD Education Foundation.
We are incredibly proud to have Mrs. Hudson represent Van High School as our Teacher of the Year! Her selflessness and strength are a true reflection of what it means to be a Vandal.
