The Van High School UIL Social Studies Team has once again claimed the District Championship title for the 16th year in a row! The team delivered a dominating performance this past weekend, finishing with a score of 220, outscoring second-place Lindale by 125 points!
Led by UIL sponsor Mr. Perkins, this team has established itself as one of the best in Texas, having earned State Championships for the past three consecutive years. With this latest district win, Van advances to Regionals as they look to continue their run toward another State title this year.
Van's students also swept the individual standings, showcasing the depth of talent across the entire team:
Lane Weems – 1st Place
Maren Du Preez – 2nd Place
Aiden Ragsdale – 3rd Place
Henry Jackson – 4th Place
Lilli Marple – 5th Place
Yahmhir Oviedo – 6th Place
Additional team members contributing to this success include Linus Drew, Landry Davis, and Jaden Scarbrough.
Congratulations to these outstanding students and Mr. Perkins on another incredible achievement. Vandal Land is proud and cheering you on as you head to Regionals—go get it!
