Things got a little chilly in Mrs. Garcia's classroom this week as students took part in a fun and interactive “Snowball Fight” activity to review contractions!
Each student started with a sheet of paper containing either a contraction or its matching word pair — for example, can’t and cannot. After crumpling their papers into “snowballs,” students tossed them across the room in a quick flurry of fun. Once the snowstorm settled, everyone grabbed a new “snowball” and worked to find their matching partner.
The activity brought plenty of laughter while reinforcing an important grammar skill in an engaging, hands-on way. At Van ISD, our teachers are always finding creative approaches to make learning memorable — and this one was snow doubt a hit!
