Van ISD proudly recognized its 2025–2026 Employees of the Year with a morning full of surprises, celebration, and Vandal pride. Campuses were filled with excitement as drumlines and cheerleaders helped honor this year’s outstanding staff members for their dedication and impact across the district.
The following individuals were named Employees of the Year for their respective campuses and roles:
J.E. Rhodes Elementary Teacher of the Year: Shannon Malone, Kindergarten
Van Intermediate School Teacher of the Year: Emily Jones, 3rd Grade
Van Middle School Teacher of the Year: Jenny Shaw, 4th Grade
Van Junior High Teacher of the Year: Jennifer Barker, Theatre and Art
Van High School Teacher of the Year: Mandy Rolison, English
Additional district honorees include:
Non-Teaching Professional of the Year: Katie Foster, Assistant Principal, Van High School
Auxiliary Staff of the Year: Laura Martinez, Custodian
Bus Driver of the Year: Tambi Daugherty
Paraprofessional of the Year: Berta Campa, Secretary/Registrar, J.E. Rhodes Elementary
Each honoree was presented with a yard sign, an acrylic plaque, and a $1,000 award provided by the Van ISD Education Foundation in recognition of their outstanding contributions.
