Mrs. Richardson’s 3rd-grade class recently brought their Bluebonnet learning unit to life by stepping into the role of basketweavers. As part of the unit, students have been learning about Native American cultures and the important role that baskets played in daily life.

During the fun hands-on activity, students explored both the practical and cultural significance of baskets, gaining a deeper understanding of how these items were used for storage, trade, and ceremonial purposes. By creating their own basket projects, they connected classroom learning with real-world history in a meaningful way.

Students were excited to see history come alive, enjoying the chance to weave their own creations while discussing the traditions and skills of Native Americans. Experiences like this help make learning interactive, memorable, and fun for our Vandals.
