Congratulations to sophomore Charlene Hickle for being named the VHS Vandal of the Week!
Get to know Charlene:
-Charlene is a sophomore at VHS and the daughter of Jeffery and Velita Hickle.
-She participates in the VHS marching band where she plays the saxophone, UIL Ready Writing, the FBC Youth Worship Team, and East Texas Youth Orchestra (Philharmonic) where she plays the oboe.
-Charlene says she doesn’t have a favorite teacher. “They are all wonderful, and I love them all equally.” 🙂
-After high school, Charlene plans to attend TJC and UT Tyler. She hopes to be a veterinarian technician and a band director, while also participating in musical performances.🎶
-Her favorite thing about being a Vandal is “how blessed we are to have an amazing staff who are kind, understanding, encouraging, and respectful. Not a lot of schools have this blessing; I am very grateful for them.” 💖

Ellie is such a kind, caring, and thoughtful young lady. She is always well-mannered and respectful, never forgetting her “please” and “thank you,” “yes ma’am” and “no ma’am.” Those little things say so much about her character!
She is also a wonderful helper and a natural leader in her classroom. Ellie is always willing to lend a hand, set a great example for her classmates, and brighten the day with her sweet spirit. We are so proud of the young lady she is! 🥰

Our Vandal Cross Country runners took on a HUGE field of competitors in Sulphur Springs Friday and Saturday, and we had some outstanding individual finishes! 🔥

What a special night in Vandal Land! ❤️
We opened district play with a WIN over Kemp, but tonight was about so much more than what happened on the court.
September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, a time to wear gold, support families, honor survivors, remember those we have lost, and raise awareness for the fight against childhood cancer. 🎗️
Before our varsity match, Jennifer and Everlee Smith shared their family's childhood cancer story with us. We are incredibly grateful for their willingness to stand before our Vandal family and share a story that reminds us exactly why this fight matters. 💛
Our girls took the court wearing yellow ribbons in their hair as a small but meaningful show of support for the children and families who are still in the fight.
Tonight, we celebrated a district victory. But more importantly, we stood together for something much bigger than volleyball.
💛 No child fights alone.
